I have never been SO excited to prep my car for Spring/Summer. 2020 was CRAP. I'll just say it. Last summer was not all that fun. We were limited on the things we COULD do & the majority of the time we were outside at our own house. We made it. But I just know that this Summer has so much in store for my family & I. I'm just so excited for the adventures.
Going on adventures calls for prepping, but with kiddos, you tend to need to be even more prepared for the worst. Below I have made a list of the things I will be keeping in my trunk organizer specifically for Spring / Summer.
Once you're done here, make sure to check out my Car Organizing Accessory list.

Even if you don't have kids, I recommend keeping something quick and easy to snack on in your car for those JUST IN CASE moments. You never know when you will need to provide yourself or someone else with a quick snack to curb the hunger. I like to keep things like granola bars, trail mix, crackers, & waters in my trunk.
A lot of people bring diaper bags for their kids, but my kiddos are 6 and 4. They tend to bring backpacks with them if we go on like day trips, but if we are just jumping in the car to go grocery shopping, I'm not bringing a backpack with supplies. Keeping an extra outfit for each kiddo in the trunk allows us to still have our UH OH moments all while still being prepared with a back up outfit.
Keeping a blanket in the car is kind of self explanatory, but it's absolutely necessary for those events that don't have seating. Less bulky than lugging around chairs. Picnics. Covering up on chilly nights, you name it, blankets come in handy.
Unfortunately but gratefully, our first aid kit is the most used product that we keep in the car. I'm not sure if it's just my kids that are so accident prone, or what. But this is an absolute necessity for us.
We've all been there. Car troubles. My kiddos are notorious for leaving my car lights on and I just never catch them being left on and sure as heck, dead battery in the AM. It's extremely helpful to be able to jump your car all by yourself and this car jump starter kit is AWESOME. It not only has jumper cables but it also is an air compressor and has outlets to charge your electronics. SUPER cool.
Much needed for those summer days and nights. We keep an extra bottle of both sun screen and bug spray in our cars for the moments when we spontaneously stop at the beach, or we're out at a friends later than expected and the bugs are getting nasty.
These kind of go hand in hand some I decided to talk about them together. Spontaneous swims are totally a thing for our family so I always like to be prepared with towels and beach toys for those situations. We live in Michigan next to an inland lake, plus Lake Michigan is super close to us as well. We LOVE to beach it.
Flashlights come in handy more than you think they would. Always good to have in your vehicle during ALL seasons. Kind of an emergency preparedness tool.
I hope you guys enjoyed this list of things to keep in your car during the spring/summer season!
