It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day when it comes to disposable items.

Whether that be the plastic bags your groceries get bagged in or the ridiculous amount of waste while ordering your favorite take-out.

It's awful when you think about the end result of the plastic container that once held your spaghetti dinner.

If you're like me, you jump for joy once you realize that it can be recycled, so you wash it out and throw it in your recycle bin.

But how many of us do that? & I have to be 100% honest, I don't do it EVERY time. & in those moments, I beg for forgiveness.

Either way, here I am rambling, you guys want the Eco-Friendly Swaps for Under $20.00!

  1. reusable water bottle We have to start with the reusable water bottle. I have to admit, when I heard the statistics of how many times they could wrap around Earth with the amount of plastic water bottle waste. I was astonished. I'm not sure what exactly went behind the science of that, but it just got me thinking. I once was a loyal buyer of plastic water bottles for my home. Once a week I would purchase a 48 package of individual waters. & by golly. It was just ridiculous, not to mention my kids left half bottles of water everywhere and it just irritated my soul. Anyways, buy yourself a reusable water bottle and make sure to fill it up every night before bed, put it in the fridge and when you wake up, BOOM. Ice cold water for ya.

  2. reusable grocery bag This is crucial and I always kick myself in the butt when I forget my bags. BECAUSE THAT HAPPENS. I have a system though, once you're done unloading your groceries, bag them all back up and put them in your trunk organizer. [I talk about my car organization here!] Then, when you spontaneously go shopping too, you'll have bags in your trunk. EARTH DAY WIN!

  3. stainless steel straw set These are totally helpful for me. I'm a weirdo and just feel special when I drink things through straws or just drinking things in tumblers in general. I'm a cup snob, okay? Anyways, I'm always reaching for these stainless steel straws for my beverages. Stick a few in your bag too when you're out and about use them at restaurants!

  4. reusable coffee mug Another classic. The reusable coffee mug. Great for teas, coffee or whatever your favorite hot beverage may be!

  5. reusable Ziploc bags These are absolutely awesome for lunch boxes. I pack my kiddos sandwiches in the sandwich sized bags. Their chips or crackers in the snack sized bags. & I even get use of the gallon sized bags for leftovers! I swear by these. LOVE THEM.

  6. wool dryer balls I love my wool dryer balls. I recently purchased some that are hand made with blue wool and green wool and they've turn them into the Earth. & they are just absolutely adorable. I have about six of them and just rotate them through my loads of laundry. I always have one or two available and it just works for me. Seriously, jump on the wool dryer ball train! You won't be sorry!

  7. unpaper towel This honestly was one of the first swaps I made when I started my eco friendly living journey. By far the easiest and I don't even have to waste money on paper towel and longer. It is AMAZING. You can go all out with this or just be simple like me, have an abundance of hand towels and wash cloths available at all times for spills, wiping counters, etc.

Leave me a comment below & tell me what YOU did today for our beautiful planet!

That's all I've got for today, I hope I've inspired you to get out and go make a difference. Whether that be planting a tree in your yard or picking up trash in the ditch.

A little goes a long way.

Stay green my friends!
